Haris Rauf was born on 7 November 1993 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. His family has been living in Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan for generations. He loved sports from his youth; As a student of Islamabad Model College, he preferred football over cricket. After that, he made an impressive domestic debut against Lahore Qalandars in the 2018 Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy.

Harris was one of the six Pakistani players selected by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in October 2019 for the upcoming 2019–20 National T20 Cup series. He made his List A debut for Balochistan in the 2019 Pakistan Cup and his five-star debut for Northerns in the 2019-20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy before he was selected by the PCB.

The talented player gets into his Melbourne Stars persona. The 2019–20 Big Bash League season begins in December. Initially, he was able to capitalize on the opportunity when he replaced Harris with Dale Steyn in a cricket match. In the second game of the championship against Hobart Hurricanes, he took five wickets with only eight cricketers.
