The women’s edition of the Indian T20 Premier League kicked off in 2023 with 5 teams and it immediately grabbed a lot of attention because of the action on the field. A strong Mumbai Indians team were the inaugural winners of the WPL and are currently entering their second season as the defending champions.
Any T20 league, be it a men’s or women’s tournament, can only be successful if there is a great balance between bat and ball. The WPL seems to have mastered this in the first season and one of the reasons is the individual performances of the batsmen who took the game by storm with their batting.
