Lucknow Supergiants have appointed the veteran Proteas all-rounder as their assistant coach for IPL 2024.
LSG have renewed their leadership for IPL 2024, looking to go one step further and win their maiden title.
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise has now appointed a former Proteas all-rounder as assistant coach for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season to strengthen its chances of winning its maiden title. He now joins the backroom staff led by head coach and former Australian opening batsman Justin Langer.

Notably, the South African has extensive IPL coaching experience, having been part of the coaching staffs of Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Lance Klusener is also the head coach of LSG’s SA20 side, Durban Supergiants, who reached the finals in the recently concluded season.
Klusener has previously served as head coach of various teams in various cricket leagues. In 2023, he led the Guyana Amazon Warriors to their first CPL title. He also coached Rajshahi Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League and Laika Kovai Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.
On the international stage, Klusener has coached Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and South Africa in various roles.
LSG renews its leadership for IPL 2024
Since their debut in the IPL in 2022, LSG has performed consistently well in the two seasons played so far and qualified for the playoffs, but failed to make it to the finals. LSG have now gone one step further and improved their lead in their bid to clinch the coveted title.

The franchise named West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran as skipper KL Rahul’s deputy for the new season, after Justin Langer replaced Andy Flower to lead the team.
LSG will be banking on their new leadership to claim their maiden IPL trophy when they open their campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur on March 24.
