Before becoming the flag bearer of Indian cricket, he played an important role in the success. Over the past decade, the former India captain has scored prolifically across the globe and enjoyed unparalleled success with the bat.

And while he is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of his generation, Harbhajan Singh believes Virat Kohli is desperate to win the World Cup once more to satisfy him. He said that Kohli was lucky to be a part of the 2011 World Cup, and winning another World Cup will satisfy his hunger.

‘Virat Kohli was not seen on the field. He needed a good rest and he got it. In 2011 he won the World Cup, he came into the team and he won the World Cup for the first time, we have already played three or four World Cups and he won the World Cup for the first time. It was luck and after that, Virat became a big player, he played in 2015, 2019 and 2023 and even after that he didn’t get the trophy,” Harbhajan Singh said on his YouTube channel.

“So that feeling is in the player’s mind. I think he is not satisfied until he takes the trophy in his hands. He has broken so many records and scored so many runs. Their hunger is satisfied only when they get the World Cup trophy in their hands.

RCB’s fate depends on Virat Kohli:

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s fortunes in IPL 2024 will depend on Virat Kohli’s performance, says Harbhajan Singh. He said that RCB will excel if their former captain enjoys an extraordinary campaign in 2016, where he scored 973 runs with a record four centuries.

“Well, a season like 2016 is very important for them because if Virat Kohli runs for them, the team will progress,” Harbhajan Singh told Star Sports.

“But I don’t know if they will win the cup, but they have great people in their team—Virat Kohli, Maxwell, Green and Patidar to name a few—so I believe they have a very good batting line-up, and everyone wants Virat Kohli to make a comeback from 2016 and score big at the top. . If this is the case he will have a great chance to advance.

Harbhajan made these comments in the wake of news that Virat Kohli may be dropped from the Indian T20 team that will participate in this year’s T20 World Cup. Reports suggest that the selectors are not interested in taking him into the squad and will change their mind only if he excels in IPL 2024.
