This is the highest individual score by a batsman in ODI World Cup history. Martin Guptill’s innings of 237 runs helped New Zealand beat the West Indies and the Kiwis reached the semi-finals of the 2015 edition.

Guptill and West Indies batsman Chris Gayle are the only two batsmen to score 200+ in a World Cup. Notably, two batsmen scored double centuries in the 2015 edition.

More than 20 batsmen have scored 150 or more runs in this quadrennial competition.

Australian southpaw David Warner is the only player to score two 160+ scores in the Cricket World Cup. He scored 178 off 133 balls against Afghanistan at the WACA in Perth in 2015. In 2019, he scored 166 off 147 balls in the second innings against Bangladesh at Nottingham.

New Zealander Glenn Turner scored an unbeaten 171 off 201 balls at a strike rate of 85.07. This is the lowest strike rate among batsmen who have scored 150+.

England’s World Cup Winning captain Eoin Morgan hit 17 sixes in his 71-ball 148 against Afghanistan in the 2019 World Cup. This is the highest number of sixes hit in an innings in an ODI match.

In the 2015 World Cup match against West Indies, South Africa’s great batsman AB de Villiers was in great form scoring 162* off 66 balls. His innings came at an astonishing strike rate of 245.45. This is the highest strike rate among batsmen who have scored 150 or more runs.

Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist gives his all against Sri Lanka in the final of the 2007 edition. Gilchrist’s 149 was the highest score in a World Cup final.
